Description:

Built circa 1840, the Smith-McDowell House is Asheville’s oldest surviving structure and displays period furnishings spanning from 1840-1900 and history exhibits. The structure is located on the campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. The home’s grounds were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. and contain the Buncombe County Civil War Memorial.

Hours of Operation:

Open Tue. - Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Sun., 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Mon.

Admission Details:

Regular Price: Adults $5; Students $4; Children 5-18 $3; Children under 5 are free. Winter Holiday Season: Adults $7; Students $6; Children 5-18 $5; Children under 5 are free.
