Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community college (A-B Tech) celebrates its 50th anniversary September 1, 2009. Established as an Industrial Education Center, A-B Tech has grown into a comprehensive community college that prepares students to embark on fulfilling careers, advance in their current positions, or complete four-year degrees. The college enrolls more than 26,000 students, making it the largest institution of higher education in Western North Carolina.
